  • "Lovely cottage, roomy and comfortable."

    Stairs are steep which could cause a problem for the less able. Although the town is close, it is downhill which obviously means uphill on the return journey. Nice small garden but could with a tidy up. Throughly enjoyed our stay.

Feel immediately welcomed into the open-plan living room and unwind into your evening as you take in your surroundings.

The fully equipped kitchen is light and bright with lovely views over Bakewell.

You can get together around the dining table and tuck into a delicious home-made meal over an aged bottle of wine while making plans for the days to come.

Later, enjoy the evening in front of the woodburning stove, with a smart TV, board games and WiFi before retiring to your bedroom for a good nights sleep.

There is a king on the first floor, with bedside tables, plenty of storage space and the family bathroom conveniently next door.

Find a super king-size double bedroom up the second flight of stairs, with a zip/link bed for flexible sleeping arrangements, an en-suite cloakroom and fabulous views across Bakewell, the surrounding hills and the pretty gardens.

BAKEWELL

Chatsworth 4 miles; Matlock 8 miles; Buxton 12 miles.

An attractive little market town retaining a delightful rural atmosphere and offering a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as local farmers’ markets. There is an old 17th Century market hall in the town centre and a modern leisure centre with swimming pool nearby. Bakewell is situated within the Peak District National Park and is ideally placed for exploring this beautiful region. Both the rugged Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak are within easy reach, and Alton Towers, Britain’s premier theme park, is only a short drive away. There are many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall to mention just a few, while the impressive caverns in nearby Castleton and Little John’s burial place in Hathersage are also well worth a visit. Take a trip to Buxton and visit the impressive Edwardian Opera House, designed by Frank Matcham, who also designed the London Palladium.
