Railway Tavern Cottages are both well-equipped and have open plan living areas with modern decor, Smart TVs, incredibly flash black and white kitchens and comfortable seating. They both come with modern underfloor heating and unmissable views towards the countryside as they sit at the base of the Lincolnshire Wolds hills. Both cottages come furnished with patio and lawned areas with ample furniture, boasting even more different angles of the surrounding scenery. The Railway Tavern Cottages is set just a short drive from Alford, a pleasant town set just outside the Lincolnshire Wolds, one of the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It boasts shops, pubs and restaurants and a grade 1 listed functioning windmill. The popular seaside resort of Skegness lies just over 10 miles away, offering all of the usual seaside entertainment, Mablethorpe is a similar location also just a short drive away. Two fantastic, homely cottages set in a beautiful area of England.

Alford is a charming market town in Lincolnshire. It is set at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is about 11 miles north-west of the coastal resort of Skegness. There is a wide range of shops including a pharmacy, grocers and two butchers as well as a large shop which specialises in doll’s houses and their contents. Alford has become an important centre for arts and crafts with many markets held throughout the year. The main market is held in the Market Place every Tuesday and Friday with the craft market being held every August Bank Holiday as well as Christmas markets being held every year. Alford is known for its Grade I listed working windmill, which is used commercially to produce stone-ground organic flour. Alford Manor House is a central point in the town, with its exhibitions and museum as well as a tea room and open gardens. With Alford being set in the Lincolnshire Wolds, there are plenty of walking and cycling routes to follow or even take a trip to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway or Claythorpe Watermill and Wildfowl Gardens, where you will find plenty of birds and animals, with plenty of space to sit and relax with great views of the old mill. Within 30 mins, you will find the seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe, with great beaches, making a great playground for children and adults alike. For something different, why not visit the towns of Louth or Horncastle, which both have a good range of shops and pubs as well as regular street and farmers markets? Whatever you decide to do, you will not be short of choice for your holiday in this lovely area of Lincolnshire.
