• "Top Flat exceeded our expectations."

  It is spacious and extremely well equipped for a self catering holiday with all the pots, pans and utensils you would need. The windows are huge overlooking the water and we spent a large amount of time just watching the wildlife and the ever changing sky. We never had an issue with finding a parking space and mostly parked right outside the flat. Would highly recommend this flat to anybody wanting to get away from it all and have a peaceful holiday. Lots and lots to do in the area.

• "Great location the views over the water to Bute are delightful."

  The flat is clean and comfortable. There is a convenience store almost next door and on the opposite side of the street from the flat is an excellent Scottish/Indian fusion restaurant that is well worth a visit.

• "Lovely property and more spacious than expected."

  Clear communication with owners who were very attentive and helpful. The only real drawback was the Internet speed is painfully slow - but then again there are plenty of other activities.

• "Would have given higher rating if garden had been possible to sit out in and not overgrown with nowhere to sit - a shame to waste such a large outside space especially in an allegedly dog friendly property."

  We booked property based on photographs indicating outdoor space more user friendly. The view was stunning from the lounge window and the property was comfortable. The surrounding area is beautiful with unspoilt beaches within easy reach.

This hadn't been brought to my attention previously and I have now managed to get another person locally who can cut it regularly for me. I am glad that you enjoyed your holiday otherwise. • "This Property is even better in person, compared to the photos."

  The view is just stunning..... No matter if it's sitting in the living room area, or sitting at the breakfast bar, the ever changing colours of Bute is mesmerising. Even in the rain and snow! Basic shop within 1 minute walk, but a great village store 1.1 mile away in the next village of Kames, which means the next time we visit we won't need to bring even essentials. The flat was clean and well equipped (all information on the web page is correct regarding the info) The beds and couches are a comfy. The draw for me to come back was the view and the area, some brilliant places to visit nearby. The pub was very reasonable for drinks, the food was OK too. The information you recieve before your stay is very detailed relating to the flat, heating, the Internet etc. Contact the owner was quick, which is great. I cannot recommend a stay here enough. We will be back....

• "You could not beat the location of this apartment, with easy access to tea rooms and general store, or walks along the shore front."

• "Top Flat Tighnabruaich."

  The view is absolutely amazing, looking across the loch to the Isle of Bute, is breath taking every morning. We had a wonderful stay at the flat. The flat contained everything you would require. End of the holiday season so it looked tired and used in a few places, but this was a minor issue compared to the stunning location. The bedding was fresh and smelt so clean and lovely, the beds were comfy and we all loved staying here. The kitchen was well equipped. We used this as a base to visit the local surrounding area around. Catching the ferry's across to Isle of Bute , Tarbert, Isle of Gigha, Isle of Arron. Getting around was easy, just turn up to a ferry terminal and pay as you get on. Buses are available and regular around each island. We explored the Kintyre peninsular, Dunoon and had a day trip on the Waverley which left from Tighnabruaich to Ardrishaig. Lots of wildlife to see. Birds, Seals, red squirrels (near Carry's farm area 10 min drive away from the flat) dolphins and deer. This coast line has some amazing beaches golden sand as far as you can see, so undisturbed and beautiful. Ettrick bay on Isle Bute, Twin beaches on Isle of Gigha, Ostel bay (Kilbride bay) Which is a short drive away from the top flat, park at the side of the ice cream shop and a pleasant walk through the woods and sand duns to a perfectly unspoilt bay. Paths all the way so easily accessible. The west coast along Arron is full of seals and Brodick has a lovely beach. We took paddleboards, and our lad loved snorkelling watching the crabs and flat fish. Its the west coast so the weather does change quickly from sun to rain and even hail in August, but you cant control he weather so be prepared and just make the most of what this beautiful coast line has to offer. Communication with the flat owner was brilliant. We would highly recommend this area to visit we had a brilliant family holiday here and many memories made. Thank you.

• "A great flat in a perfect location."

  The bench along the whole back wall below the windows that stretch the whole width of the flat was a highlight. The photos don’t quite do justice to how amazing the 180° view is.

• "Absolutely wonderful - as lovely as advertised."

  Super comfortable - there were two of us so we didn't need the two other bedrooms. Perfect in all regards. Stunning view from the big windows out into the loch and across to the mountains of the isle of Bute. We arrived by train, ferry, and bus from Glasgow via Dunoon (spent a night there). Travel was relatively easy and fun. Met all sorts of kind people on our day trips around the area (great helpful bus drivers and ferry guys), and chatted happily w/folks (and their dogs!) at the nice (super convenient) friendly Tighnabruaich Hotel Pub and Restaurant across the street (good food as well as lovely people). Decent convenient food store 1-minute walk around the corner. Twenty-minute walk to Kames, where there is another bigger store and a Hotel/Restaurant for a meal. Also visited Trabert and Rothesay (on Bute) via ferry and bus. But the most special thing was the flat, with its glorious views and super comfortable layout. For periodic heat we used only the wood-burning fireplace (iron stove). Kitchen facilities were great - all needs were met re appliances, dishes, utensils, etc, including a welcome basket w/coffee, tea, cookies. All in all a really wonderful experience, and, as we have said, a really perfect apartment. Well worth the trip from a noisy bustling New York City apartment replete with sirens and crowded avenues to that peaceful beautiful western Scotland village flat...

• "What a wonderful place to stay the views from the flat over the water looking at Bute are out of this word."

  The change in the light and colour give a kaleidoscope effect and the stars at night just finished it off. I will return. The flat was very well equipped above a antique shop and a convenient store near by.The Heritage shop was award winning in my eyes . There was a pier near by for those who like to fish. Perfect in every way.

• "We had a wonderful week."

  The views from the window were superb. It was so peaceful and we visited other areas. We think we have found our second favourite part of Scotland. The only slight issue was that the neighbours liked to play their music loud through the day but always turned it off by six pm. Overall it didn't spoil our week. Came home relaxed and chilled. Well worth the seven hour drive from Leeds. Thank you for lending your flat to us for the week.

• "It should be worth noting that there are 35 steps from the ground floor to the flat - 17 outside and 18 inside so if carrying heavy luggage this might be a problem."

  Also our ageing dog struggled with these said steps. That said what a view looking out over the Kyles of Bute. Thinking of heading back next year.

  Some of the saucepans and utensils were past their best. There was some mould by the kitchen sink. Otherwise perfectly acceptable.

• "We had a fantastic week at the Top Flat and as per all the reviews the view was to die for, literally spent hours staring out at the wonderful vista."

  . Apart from the view the highlight of the flat for us was the open fire bag the flat was so warm. We had a couple of queries which were dealt with quickly by the owner who was absolutely lovely. The village itself is small but had what we needed, small shop for basics and a pub but as the nearest large supermarket is quite far we’d recommend taking everything you want with you if you can. Tip if you’re into your seafood take the ferry over to Tarbert and get the fresh seafood on the harbour (Prentice Seafoods) absolutely delicious and very good price. It had all we needed for a very cosy and relaxing weeks, we hope to go back! Thanks very much

• "In general, wow!"

  The lodgings were absolutely wonderful. There is an array of windows which serves a picturesque view at all times, no matter the weather. The facilities provided all work in good condition, especially the heating, which can be either prepared with the chimney or with a normal radiator. We didn't have the chance to try the chimney but the normal heating was very effective. The spacious flat was also very clean. The last thing to add is the great communication with the homeowner, definitely making our first stay in Scotland much smoother and without any worries.

• "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

  Great base for exploring the area - walking and accessing the water with our kayaks. Views from the flat were outstanding, and while it rained for the first three days of our stay, seeing the sun and moon rise over the Kyles each day during the second half of the week was stunning!

  Bathroom could do with updating. Dining area stools and breakfast bar not very comfortable. No tin opener. On the whole, an enjoyable stay. A ideal base for touring the surrounding area and visiting Isle of Bute. We would stop there again!

• "Beautiful flat with windows along the width of the property offering panoramic views to Bute and we could even see Arran away in the distance."

  Watching the moon rise and reflect on the sea was magical. We had two stunning, sunny days and so took advantage of the beautiful local walks. A really lovely, friendly area to visit and our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer. The flat was spotless, warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. We’ll definitely visit again.

• "This accommodation was amazing the views and the location was perfect."

  Everyone was so friendly, pub over the road did good food and was dog friendly and well a stocked shop next door was a bonus. Don’t be put off by the steps or the parking it was so worth it to have the pleasure of staying in such a lovely location so close to the sea. The weather was wet but it was always good to get back to the flat as it was so lovely and warm.

  Lovely walk along the shore every morning with the dog. Nice places to eat within walking distance. Friendly people in the village too. Our teenage sons hired bikes + helmets for the day £15 each. Thought we saw a seal on the last day...

  The only negative aspect of the week was the weather! It rained heavily from the middle of our week there, which is quite normal for western Scotland. Other than that, I had a good holiday.

• "Truly a fantastic seaside holiday property!"

  Views are outstanding across the water to the island of Bute. Space is amazing and the long window seat is perfect for relaxing and watching yachts drift by and seabirds on or beside the water. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with all you will need and we loved the touch of a welcoming tea/coffee tray for the two of us on our arrival. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was also thoughtfully equipped. There were two other bedrooms which we didn't need, one a single and the other with a bunk bed, so the flat is ideal for a family break. We had fabulous weather all weekend and it was so peaceful to enjoy a glass of wine in the back garden sitting at the wall which overlooks the shore and sea. This was a very, last minute break and the owner was really helpful in organising this for us which was very much appreciated. All in all a PERFECT chill out weekend flat - or week if you're very lucky!

• "It was just perfect."

  Such a well stocked little home, I hardly needed to bring anything but clothes! We had a fabulous time - it rained relentlessly but the view more than made up for it. Fantastic fishing to be had, brilliant neighbours, comfy beds (soooo cozy!) and an all round wonderful week. Thank you so much Rhonda and Brenda. Just lovely. We will definitely be coming again.

• "A nice spot, though the area tends to slow down and in a lot of cases things are shut for winter by the beginning of November."

  The flat itself is as advertised, though the view is incredible and the pictures really don't do it justice. The wood provided for the fireplace was not nearly enough, though we were informed that bringing our own was advised as the local supply was unpredictable. Electricity heaters were also great, though the power is prepaid and there is an extra cost if you run out -don't worry though, we were provided with more than enough for our stay. Everything was amazing. a really good place to stay, and the locals are very open and friendly. The local restaurant across the road (Botanica) is really good, the pub was very homely and the driving in the area is lovely, with quite (if narrow in places) roads.

• "The flat we stayed in had outstanding views over the Kyles of Bute,although there was only 2 of us and a small dog there is plenty of room for a family of 4 or 5."

  The people in the village were extremely pleasant always stopping to talk to us and the flat was ideally situated very close to the local shops and across from the local hotel.

• "Fab holiday and a fantastic location."

  The ONLY reason we wouldn't re-book this accommodation is that we have now explored this area, and there are so many more places to visit. Would definitely recommend it to other families wanting a comfortable, reasonably priced holiday in the area. The view from the panoramic lounge windows is just fabulous - you'd never get bored of it! The only comment I would make is that the pictures on your website show a telescope in the lounge, which isn't there in reality. Fortunately we had taken 3 sets of binoculars, and there was a set there too.
