  • "Tiore is very peaceful."

The view from the cottage is wonderful with woodland walks from the doorstep. We saw hares running in the fields a stoat in the garden, lots of birds and of course the peacocks. The cottage itself and everything in it is spotless along with everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Kelso is just a few minutes drive with plenty of pubs and places to eat. We took the train from Tweedbank to Edinburgh for a day. We also visited Bamburgh, Seahouses and St. Abbs. We will certainly stay at Tiore again

Thank you for your wonderful comments, they are very much appreciated. As we have said may times before, our guests' satisfaction is our reward. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Tiore and also had a full 'Borders Experience' when you visited places around the area. We look forward to welcoming you again. Property Owner

KELSO

Jedburgh 14 miles; Wooler 16 miles.

Kelso is a lovely tranquil Borders town at the meeting point of the Tweed and Teviot rivers, with a cobbled town square and streets, and an array of stunning Georgian buildings, and a wealth of gorgeous countryside around it. Take time out to visit Floors Castle, a very prominent Stately Home with restaurants and gardens, designed by William Adam. Also close by are Mellerstain House, Kelso Abbey and the Kelso races. Mellerstain House is a stunning example of Georgian architecture at its finest. Designed by the architect William Adam and his son Robert in 1725, it is the residence of the 13th Earl of Haddington. The house is located within 80 acres of luscious rolling parkland and is in walking distance of Smailholm Tower, the ancestral home of Sir Walter Scott. Great fishing can be enjoyed on the Teviot, Tweed and Jed rivers and there are many excellent golf courses to choose from. Watch the spectacular and historic Common Ridings, held at Kelso, Hawick, Selkirk, Langholm, Lauder and others, with long histories. The Borders also offer some superb walking and cycling, be it on the coast, over the breathtaking hillsides or amongst the enchanting Border forests. The towns of Coldstream, Jedburgh, Kirk Yetholm and Wooler are just a short drive away and are a joy to explore at leisure.
