The property

This is a unique, picturesque, semi-detached cottage with prominent indigo doors, resting on a working farm with wonderful sea views in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

A luxurious home, it comprises of two delightful spacious bedrooms sleeping up to four people, each window framing a stunning views from rural countryside on one side to the sea on the other.

The large sitting room is perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring; rest and unwind with luxury, comfy seating and listen to the crackling sound of the woodburning stove, taking in the natural encircling tranquillity.

The kitchen is fully-equipped with fine, modernised appliances and modern-day living space.

A complimentary luxury essentials and a wee bottle of Scots whisky will be waiting to welcome you to Sea View.

The cottage is situated on a working family farm, which includes sheep and cattle enjoying the large stretches of grassland, and the reed filled fields leading down to the shore, the farming calendar is always changing so no two days are the same.

There is also a secret beach that can only be reached via the farm, giving you privacy and peace to be at one with nature.

A wee guided walk around the farm if desired will introduce you to scenic viewpoints, old village ruins, birth place of the West highland terrier, and a bit more of the fascinating history and treasures of this area, this can be arranged at a suitable time during your stay if interested.

This stunning location is ideal for walkers, cyclists, golfers, kayakers, wild swimming, photographers, keen anglers, wild flower and wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers with lots of seasonal migratory land and sea birds.

Take a trip to Bellanoch Bridge at the end of the farm, sit in the bird hide or on the picnic benches and watch out for the osprey heading back to Ford after fishing on the River Add with its catch firmly gripped with its talons.

Ducks, geese, swans, herons sand martins and the playful resident family of otters unaware that they are being watched are all found here.

The long meandering River Add, which runs through the farm leads to the historic site of Dunadd where the Ancient Kings of Scotland were once crowned is a lovely peaceful walkfrom the cottage.

The Crinan Canal can be accessed from Bellanoch Bridge where you can enjoy a walk, cycle or take a drive to Crinan basin for coffee.

Visit the award winning restaurant , take in all types of seafaring vessels or go towards Lochgilphead with opportunities for refreshments at Cairnbaan, Lochgilphead and Ardishaig.

The farm is always trying to improve its green credentials and has a number of green conservation programmes in place, working with Heritage Scotland to increase the numbers of endangered butterflies such as the Marsh Fritillary by changing some farming methods.

An extensive part of the farm has just recently been planted with native woodland trees such as birch to ensure our native trees continue to be plentiful.

Some roofs on the farm are covered with solar panels to help generate environmentally friendly electric.

Crinan Ferry beach is also a designated area of special scientific interest as this area best represents the areas natural heritage in terms of plants, animals and geomorphology.

From Crinan harbour a boat trip can be organised with Venture West to the Gulf of Corryvrechan where you will be amazed by the tidal whirlpools through the passage between Isle of Jura and Scarba.

The trip usually offers great wildlife, seals, porpoise, golden eagles, minkle whales and dolphins.

Sandy will also provide information on all the small islands such as Eilean Mor, Corr Eilean, Eilean Gamhna and a wee glimpse at the hold of George Orwell, author of Animal Farm and 1984.

Moine Mhor, the gaelic name for the “Big Moss”, a national nature reserve is also nearby with its natural flora and fauna, be dazzled by the dragonflies and butterflies a plenty on this easy circular walk.

Kilmartin stands in an attractive glen, which is famous for a number of impressive historic sites, the rich legacy of our ancestors.

A climb to the top floor of Carnassarie Castle is rewarded with a magnificent view of the Glen, boasting over 350 ancient monuments available to explore, including rock carvings, standing stones and ancient burial cairns in Scotland’s richest prehistoric landscape.

A 5000 year old stone sequence is a real point of interest which can be reached without ever leaving the farm.

Follow the whisky trail, where you can take your pick with distilleries in Oban, Campbeltown, Jura and Islay all offering tours.

There is also a Gin Trail with famous gins being produced in Kintyre, Islay and Colonsoy.

Seaview-Barsloisnach is in a fascinating location with copious amounts of surrounding art and culture, a superb cottage for holidaying with family and friends.

Sea View Cottage is perfect for a bucket and spade holiday, relaxing with your favourite media gadget or a great book.

A massage from the local practitioner can be arranged to ease any aches after a hectic day exploring, before you head off to enjoy fine food in the local restaurants, hotels and inns.

So many nearby, sometimes with music by local musicians in Loch Melford, Lord of the Isles Hotel and a Scottish ceilidh can be the perfect end to an evening.

Just as enjoyable is a quiet night in at your cosy cottage, looking out at the farm animals, wildlife, shimmering sea and breath taking sunsets.

The is a secret beach that can only be reached via rough track on the farm requiring sturdy boots.

The village of Kilmartin sits at the heart of Kilmartin Glen, one of the most important prehistoric sites on the Scottish mainland. In the area there are rock carvings, standing stones, burial cairns and the remains of the Iron-Age fort at Dunadd, the home of the first kings of Scotland. Kilmartin is home to a church, pub, a castle and the Kilmartin House Museum with visitor centre next door, housing a café. The town of Lochgilphead is eight miles away, offering a good selection of cafes and small shops selling a range of goods, foods and crafts, while the village of Inveraray, home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, is within driving distance. Close by is Crinan Canal, which is surrounded by the stunning scenery of Argyll and Bute. From end to end the canal is nine miles long, and its sheltered waters make it an ideal place for beginners and the more experienced paddlers to explore. There are beautiful walks to be enjoyed throughout the area from Kilmichael Forest, to those at Port Ann and Dunardry and up over the hill from the stoney beach at Crinan Ferry, from where you can look out over Jura and north towards Mull. A trip to the Scottish Beaver Trail in Knapdale Forest also provides a fun family day out, plus the fishing village of Tarbert gives you superb access to all the ferry points across Kintyre that travel to Gigha, Arran, Islay and Portavadie.
