The property

This tasteful barn conversion is tucked away into a courtyard setting; an open-plan layout, divided into a wonderful kitchen, with a homely lounge adjacent.

Classically designed and elevated by a high ceiling, the interior also boasts a breakfast bar, perfect for those early morning cups of tea.

The family bathroom features a bath with a shower over, and a king-size double bedroom is lovingly presented, complimented by a rose overtone.

Bedside tables and a chest of drawers add to the rooms beautiful effect.

Waterhall Farm Cottages

Thirsk 4 miles. Situated on the outskirts of the pretty village of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe, these five properties are the result of a sympathetic conversion of old stone barns on the owner’s livestock farm. Care has been taken with these Thirsk cottages to retain original features, including exposed timbers and walls, and these original features are complemented by modern comforts. Tastefully furnished and decorated, these Thirsk cottages provide warm and welcoming accommodation benefiting from a communal sheltered courtyard set within a peaceful environment. There are plenty of animals to enjoy including alpacas, free range chickens, Gloucestershire old spot pigs, beef herd of cattle, Ryeland Sheep (rare), Pygmy goats, Shetland pony, 2 dogs and cat with the owner offering a completely free trip for people staying at cottage to go when owner feeds animals. The local village inn is a 10-minute stroll from these North Yorkshire cottages, whilst the delightful market town of Thirsk offers a wide range of restaurants, shops and pubs skirting the historic cobbled market square. From these Thirsk cottages, there are superb walking opportunities including Sutton Bank with its exceptional panoramic views from where you may wish to watch the gliders take full advantage of the strong thermals hugging the cliffs. Be sure to visit the James Herriot Museum in Thirsk, and picturesque Helmsley is famous for its beautiful hanging baskets throughout the summer months. These Thirsk cottages are an ideal base for those wishing to explore both the Yorkshire Dales, the spectacular North York Moors and there is easy access to the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough. Visit the World of James Herriott Museum, dedicated to the life and works of the town’s own famous vet and author or explore the surrounding rolling countryside and Hambleton Hills, offering excellent walking opportunities.
