You'll find plenty of water-based action there, too, and that is equally so at beautiful Ullswater, just a few minutes drive to your south, where rowboats and canoes are abundant and the gorgeous steamer boats glide between some of the finest hill scenery in the country. For larger groups, the owner of Home Farm Cottage also offers two other high-end escapes nearby – Lacet Cottage (sleeps 4) and Highgate (sleeps 8). Hutton John Holiday Cottages

Hutton John Holiday Cottages consists of a beautiful selection of cottages near Pooley Bridge in Cumbria. The Hutton John Estate is made up of 550 acres and is nestled in the northern Lake District with spectacular views of the fells. Renowned for its wealth of specialist shops, the sandstone buildings of Penrith hide intriguing yards, lanes and alleyways, with a myriad of attractive cottages, gardens and little shops. With a wide choice of excellent pubs, hotels, restaurants and entertainment, Penrith also offers a museum, and Millennium Trails round the historic city streets.
