  • "We arrived bank holiday Monday (21st April) and found that the TV in the main living room and bedroom only had one channel available to watch."

    We reported it on Tuesday 22nd and someone did come out the same day to look at it. However, he was unable to resolve the problem and said he would arrange for an aerial engineer to come, hopefully the same day. We had no further communication from anyone about the problem with the TV and it was not fixed during our stay. This was pretty frustrating and we wasted a lot of time checking it each day to try to get it to work / see if it had been fixed. Feedback in the guest book suggests the previous visitors had had the same problem. Followed up and reported it to Sykes again upon our return and still no response over a week later! Shame really as the accommodation was as expected and the location in the town was great.

A duplex apartment situated across the first and second floor of a historic property resting in Lyme Regis, Dorset.

With easy access to the town centre and beach, Church View is the perfect base for a family looking to explore Dorset.

Use the off-road parking provided just a short walk from the house and enter into an open-plan living area spanning the first floor of this property, where traditional black painted roofbeams and an ornamental fireplace add to the history of the space, with seating perfect for relaxation before you begin your day.

Leading on from the sitting area you will find a wonderful little kitchen, stocked with all of the essentials and with wooden walls and furniture to give a taste of tradition as you cook up a storm made from local produce and enjoy a social family meal at the dining table provided.

The bedrooms can be found on the second floor of this apartment, beginning with a double which you access through a historic white painted corridor, with high ceilings giving an airy feel to the room, stone walls and roof beams, as well as great storage and a homely feel.

The second bedroom is a single, perfect for children, and there is additional sleeping due to a pull-out truckle bed.

A bathroom with a blue tiled floor offers a space to soak the sand from your hair before getting cosy for the night.

The location of this property couldn’t be any better, with the Lyme Regis Museum and a handful of quaint craft shops only a short walk, offering historical information and beautiful handmade gifts.

Enjoy a heart-warming meal just a short walk from the property at one of the many delicious eateries available, many with a view of the harbour below.

If you are visiting the Jurassic coast then taking a walk along the stunning coastline is a must, where you can enjoy a picnic beneath the towering cliffs, enjoy a swim in the sea or even try out fossil hunting to see what you can discover.

Charmouth 3 miles; Axminster 6 miles; Bridport 10 miles; Sidmouth 16 miles.

The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. A holiday destination to savour!

Note: One parking permit for Woodmead Halls car park on Hill Road (no allocated space) within 5 minutes walk of the property, subject to availability. We have been contacted by the local council concerning essential works taking place within the car park from the 3rd Feb for approximately 3-4 weeks weather dependent.
There will be a dedicated area for cars that have a parking permit to display, however please note that EV charging will not be available during this time but Charmouth Road Car Park and Holmbush Car Park chargers will be fully operational.

In the summer months the restaurant below operates as a bar with background music on Thursday/ Friday/ Saturday 5 - 10.30pm. Some noise should be expected.

Washer/dryer is located in the out house

The outside space at the back of the building is not let with the property.
Due to the uneven flooring and steep stairs, the property may not be suitable for the elderly or young children.
