  • "This is a superb property, we loved it."

Very clean, warm & cosy with everything we needed for a week in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. The views from the living room patio doors are stunning. We have stayed in several lovely properties on Ardnamurchan over the last 10 years but this has been our favourite so far. Some maintenance needed for the veranda but this was brought to attention of the owner & was in the process of being sorted. Would thoroughly recommend a stay at Borve House.

The property

Nestled upon the craggy headland at the western end of the Ardnamurchan peninsula, is this white washed bungalow.

Boasting an elevated position in a remote section of Lochaber, yet with the village of Kilchoan just 4 miles away, enjoy a well-earned rest with the whole family.

The views are quite something to admire, even on a cloud-covered day they stretch across Sanna Bay, over to the Isles of Eigg and Muck.

Approach the property via a single track road, where entry is gained down a set of stone steps.

Through the rear entrance is the utility, with a washing machine and tumble dryer, leading to the kitchen.

Here, you can enjoy fully fitted units and appliances, layered with neutral colour schemes.

The living room boasts sumptuous seating, where you can cosy together with your loved ones and enjoy the warmth of the open fire on a cold, wintry evening.

There is a lovely dining area for you to use each mealtime and a balcony through the French doors, enjoying the tremendous coastal views.

Completing this cottage are three bedrooms boasting a simple design, followed by a family bathroom, with a shower over the bath tub.

Outside you have the benefit of an enclosed garden, perfectly safe for the children and dogs to run around.

Ardnamurchan Point is nearby, with its commanding lighthouse, coffee shop and exhibition centre, backed by glorious landscape scenery.

Sanna Beach offers a wonderful spot to bask on golden sands and gaze out across clear blue waters to the Isle of Muck and Eigg.

For local amenities, the village of Kilchoan offers a pub, shop and a restaurant, as well as the formidable Mingary Castle nearby.

Mingary Pier also offers regular ferry trips across the Sound of Mull to Tobermory, where you can visit Mull Aquarium, Tobermory Lighthouse and the Tobermory Distillery Visitor Centre.

A wonderful choice for a base for your next holiday to the Scottish Highlands.

KILCHOAN

Tobermory 7 miles (via ferry).

The pretty village of Kilchoan is the most westerly village in mainland Britain, situated on the stunning Ardnamurchan Peninsula and surrounded by magnificent mountains and breathtaking coastal views. The area close to Kilchoan offers a choice of quiet sandy beaches and an abundance of wildlife with eagles regularly spotted overhead. Until 1900 the village was only accessible by sea, but now access is via a single track road that leads through some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. The village has good local services including a shop, pub, restaurant and community centre. From Mingary Pier there is a regular ferry service across the Sound of Mull to Tobermory which gives the opportunity to explore the islands of Mull and Iona. There are wildlife excursions on land and sea and the new Ardnamurchan Distillery and Natural History Centre are added attractions. A short drive away is Ardnamurchan Point complete with its own lighthouse and visitor centre which is well worth a visit, or perhaps you simply want to sit on the glorious Sanna Beach and enjoy the views across the clear blue sea to the islands of Muck, Eigg and Rum?
