  • "A wonderful property in a lovely village just north of Dundee."

The owners Pete and Andrea made us feel very welcome. The enclosed garden was superb for our 1yr old Labrador to explore, as were the countless nearby walks. A very comfort cottage with everything we needed for a lovely stay.

The property

This superb detached traditional cottage is situated in the grounds of the owners’ home, just a two minute walk from the village of Newtyle and close to both the town of Kirriemuir and the city of Dundee.

In a quiet location, this property is an ideal base for a couple or small family wishing to explore this part of Scotland with the coast and the Cairngorms National Park within reach.

As you enter this delightful holiday home you will find the kitchen with small dining area on the left, a great place to eat breakfast or a quick meal before venturing out, perhaps to enjoy a long walk or cycle ride.

There’s a shower room also on the ground floor with a more formal dining room, before relaxing in the wonderful sitting room in front of the cosy woodburning stove.

Is there a better way to end the day than to snuggle up with your loved ones whilst the flames of the stove flicker away?

Upstairs and completing the accommodation in this charming cottage are two delightful bedrooms; a double and a twin, together with a bathroom.

Outside is off road parking and a large rear lawned garden, where your pet dogs can use up any excess energy whilst you unwind after another fun-filled day in this part of Scotland.

The village of Newtyle has a shop, pub and Post Office, as well as an award-winning butcher.

Whilst staying at this lovely cottage a visit to Glamis Castle is a must and aside from walks and cycling you can enjoy fishing and golf in the area.

An excellent holiday home with plenty to see and do in the area.

NEWTYLE

Kirriemuir 12 miles; Dundee 12 miles.

The village of Newtyle is situated equal distance between the town of Kirriemuir and the city of Dundee. Newtyle has a shop, Post Office, a pub, church and an award-winning butcher. Nearby Kirriemuir is a lovely red sandstone town in the valley of Strathmore, regarded as the gateway to the Angus Glens, which offer some of Scotland's most unspoiled landscape. The town is home to the birthplace of novelist JM Barrie, creator of the much-loved children's character Peter Pan and the house is now a museum looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. A statue of Peter Pan can be found in the town. Kirriemuir also offers an Aviation Museum and the historic Pictish Stones at Meigle, while the Angus Glens offer great hill walking and climbing. With a fine variety of shops, hotels and pubs in the town and surrounding area, there is something here to suit all tastes.
