Sustonica, the first global sustainability standard for holiday lets.
Our aim is to create lasting holiday memories and we intend to do so both responsibly and sustainably.
To deliver on this we've set out a number of environmental and social pledges which help to focus our efforts;

This is why we've partnered with Sustonica, the first global certification for holiday lets,
to support our owners to be more sustainable.
The Sustonica certification focuses on four key areas: energy conservation, water conservation,
waste reduction and promoting inclusiveness. They are on a mission to become the most widely
recognised sustainability standard for holiday rentals and a catalyst to reduce emissions of holiday

Properties that display the Sustonica badge have successfully passed the criteria,
which align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards,
and their owner has made a commitment to look after our planet as well as you.
"The cottage was spotless and beautifully maintained."
The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming and even took the time to show our two children around the farm and let them help feed the ducks and chickens which they absolutely loved. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone and would stay here again.

"Lovely cottage and very helpful, friendly owner."
It was good to have two bathrooms as I was sharing with my brother! A bigger fridge/freezer would be good if staying for longer than four nights, but the rest of the cottage was really good.

"The holiday barn was absolutely beautiful."
When we arrived it was all set up ready for Christmas with a real tree. The barn was lovely and cosy fully central heated. Everything was there that was needed. We could have done with instructions on how to work the cooker and microwave ( guess we were abit thick ). Also remember to take usb connections if you need to charge phones and stuff. Robert ( the owner ) came over for a quick chat when we first arrived which was lovely. But left us in peace saying if we needed anything just pop over to the house. Lovely peaceful break. Love to go back.
We were very happy that you had a peaceful break with us in Shropshire.

"A lovely stay in our home county of Shropshire prior to our move overseas."
A little cottage, had everything we needed to cook lovely meals, wash our clothes and relax in front of the TV on rainy days.
It was everso slightly cramped for us, but that was only because we could have done with an extra bedroom - that's our problem though, as we were aware this one had 2 bedrooms prior to booking. The cottage itself was a lovely place to base yourself for a stay.
Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback and good luck for your move.

"Wonderful cottage, so quiet with dark starry skies and so much to do without travelling far."
Wi-fi was excellent and extras such as cling film, shower gel, condiments etc. were provided together with milk, eggs and biscuits which were much appreciated. Beds comfortable, lots of space and bathrooms excellent. Robert and Barbara were super friendly and helpful. We visited Oswestry (get a walking plan in town to get the most out of it), Ellesmere (and sculpture trail), Lake Vrnwy and Chirk Castle (NT) over the Easter weekend. We loved the cottage and would definitely choose it again for more Shropshire/Wales explorations combined with rest and relaxation in a fantastic setting.

Every time we have been greeted like family by the hosts (Robert and Barbara). The cleanliness was second to none, and the cottage was comfortable as always. Beautiful countryside location, great for stargazing at night (no light pollution). Thank you to the Cookseys for their hospitality as always. Plenty in the local area to do. Good local pubs (we highly recommended the Red Lion just down the road at Myddle). Supermarkets about 15-20 minutes away.

Far exceeded our expectations and was far better than it looked online. Our only suggestion would be to reduce some of the furniture in the main room to make a bit more space! For a family of 5 that would have been ideal!

"I can really say we had a wonderful stay in acorn2 cottage."
First time we've had a holiday like this and totally impressed with all the facilities and amenities. The cottage itself is extremely well equipped and presented to a very high standard. Being on a farm, I thought it might be a bit noisy at times but it was so quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very helpful on arrival with general information and were around if you needed anything. "We absolutely love coming to Oakdene farm."
The owners, Barbara and Robert go above and beyond to ensure a memorable and comfortable stay. This is our second visit this year.
This time, Robert was incubating chicken eggs, which started hatching the day before we left. Our son was able to handle the chicks and observe them, which was an amazing experience.
Barbara also invited us into her art studio to do some activities, which was great fun!
We had a couple of minor issues, but Barbara and Robert helped to rectify them immediately. We cannot praise them enough for the excellent job that they do.
A huge thanks to the Cookseys for yet another week of memories.

"This is a comfortable and well appointed cottage, tastefully furnished."
Being all on the ground floor made access easy for my husband, who has limited mobility. Fixtures and fittings are modern, clean and in good condition. The owners live on-site and are very friendly and helpful. There is a pretty courtyard garden at the front and a large lawned area at the back, both shared with other cottages. The setting is peaceful and tranquil. The only downside is that - as stated in the description - the WiFi is very weak so we used a lot of 4G and couldn't stream anything. But we had a lovely time and would like to return in the future.
