  • "A beautiful, peaceful Cornish Cottage albeit surrounded by what seemed to be mostly other holiday rentals it had beautiful views, fabulous features and all we needed."

    I'd love to live here. Plenty of room for a party of 6. Parking is tricky getting round walls on tight bends and zero opportunities close by to park a second car if two families are sharing this house but this is due to the nature of this pre- cars pretty little hamlet. There are a couple of side roads a few mins walk away where we left second car. The showers are wonderful and hot but upstairs one leaks through dining room ceiling a bit and downstairs one through inefficient screen ( highlighted at least as far back as 2020) but this did not ruin our stay at all. Fabulous cake on arrival. Nice to have one courtyard with bbq and pretty back garden too. Beds were comfortable with lovely bedding. Washing machine is great, freezer, dishwasher too. Washing line in courtyard. You can walk to a pub but steep hill with no pavement. The nearby beach and cafe are lovely. You can walk to the church from where you can walk a bit further for views over Tintagel Castle and the beach. Stunning. This house offered plenty of room and all we needed for our party of 6 adults. Thank you David.

The property

In the peaceful hamlet of Treknow, a short stroll from the wide golden sands of Trebarwith Strand is Jubilee Cottage.

Beautifully finished and designed with great thought and style, this period stone built cottage blends perfectly its original character features with a chic, contemporary interior to create a sophisticated seaside haven.

On the ground floor, you'll find a cool, crisp sitting room furnished with comfortable sofas and a crackling wood burner - the perfect place to relax after a day walking the coast path.

Gather in the sleek kitchen with its feature range stove and window seat to prepare a sumptuous meal, which you can enjoy in the bright, adjacent dining room.

Set on the mezzanine (accessed via steep ladder style stairs - children should be supervised) a second sitting area is a welcome retreat away from the main living space.

The cottage is home to four pristine, restful bedrooms.

The master double enjoys a fabulous en-suite bathroom with a decadent slipper bathtub.

A second double room has lovely views over the garden, two neat single rooms and two further immaculate bath/shower rooms complete the accommodation.

Outside, the peaceful, enclosed garden is a lovely spot for children and pets to safely play.

Enjoy a morning coffee before heading off to the beach, or a barbecue at the end of a sunny day on the sand.

With lifeguard service and a surf school during the summer months, this beach is very popular with families and allows dogs throughout the year.

The local area is a paradise for walkers, with mile upon mile of coastal footpath to explore.

There are also several championship golf courses nearby, as well as Tintagel with its brand new bridge to access its famed castle ruins, and some of the prettiest picture postcard villages in Cornwall including popular Port Isaac, the setting for ITV's Doc Martin.

Just a short amble from the cottage are two lovely village pubs, one of which (The Port William) offers wonderful panoramic views of the cliffs and beach below.

Ideal for holidays by the sea or for those wanting to explore this rugged coastline, you're assured of a wonderful holiday at Jubilee Cottage.

TREBARWITH STRAND

Tintagel 2 miles.

Trebarwith Strand is a small hamlet just 2 miles south west of Tintagel. With just a few dwellings and a country pub, this beach side community provides a great magnet for surfers and coastal path walkers. With majestic scenery, high cliffs and rocky coves to explore it's the perfect holiday retreat, while Tintagel with King Arthur's castle, a selection of cafes and restaurants and an old Post Office is just one mile away over the cliff tops. The area is perfect for exploring the major surfing beaches to the south as well as the open spaces of Bodmin Moor just 10 miles to the east. The major beach resort of Bude is 19 miles away while Boscastle with its quaint harbour and pottery is just 5 miles away. Newquay, the Eden Project and the cathedral city of Truro can all be reached within 60 minutes by car.
